Bruno Vannieu was born in Lille, France. He studied at Lille University and gained a BA in Economics and an MA in Human Resources Management, specializing in intercultural communication. He lives in Kyoto with his Japanese wife and three children.

 

He has been teaching French since 1992, first in Malawi, Africa, then in Japan. He has experienced about every possible teaching context, apart from corporate teaching. He co-founded Alma Publishing in 1999 and ran it until 2008, when he decided to concentrate on writing textbooks and doing teacher training.

 

Bruno is a co-author of eight French and English conversation textbooks, and of numerous articles on conversation teaching, focusing on classroom management and the pragmatics of conversation. He has been active since 2001 in teacher training to French and English teachers.

 

His ambition is to help make studentsŐ and teachersŐ lives more interesting.
