Tristan Scholze

Tristan is Managing Partner at Rainbow Bridges English Academy in Fukuoka, which he cofounded with Dave Borgeson in 2005. Among their goals are facilitating communicative exchange and discovery, building community, and empowering learners and teachers.

They are currently developing the Rainbow Bridges EFL store, including worksheets and a range of materials for children’s English as a Foreign Language programs.

Tristan also teaches at universities and is the coordinator for ETJ Fukuoka.

Raised in Champaign, Illinois, he earned a BA from the University of Illinois and an MA from the University of Hawaii, both in English. Has spent most of the time since 1999 in Japan and his diverse interests include languages and cultures, photography, travel, history, ice hockey and football, motorcycles, and music.
