About Hugh

Hugh Graham-Marr, co-owner of ABAX ELT Publishers, hails from Canada. He has over twenty years teaching experience, holds a Masters degree in T.E.S.P. and in addition to teaching has been a TOEIC test item writer for ETS and an examiner for the TEPT. With ABAX he sometimes writes but mostly edits books. One text he edited, Fiction in Action: Whodunit, won the 2010 HRH the Duke of Edinburgh ESU Book Award and the 2011 ELTon Award in the International category.

Our goal at ABAX is pretty simple—to make English language learning materials for adults that teachers enjoy using and that learners both enjoy learning from AND learn from. No magic bullets. Just a desire to ground our materials in what is known about how people learn language.
