Distance learning

David English House is the Japan representative for the following courses

The University of Birmingham

œMA in TEFL / TESL
œMA in Applied Linguistics

Reputation of the courses

All courses have the highest possible international reputation. Both the Center for English Language Studies at the University of Birmingham and the School of East Asian Studies at the University of Sheffield are world leaders in their fields and immediately recognised and respected by universities and employers throughout the world.

Support

All courses can be done without leaving Japan. For the University of Birmingham courses there is a one-week seminar in Hiroshima in August of the first year, and for the University of Sheffield courses there are seminars each August. Much of the rest of the courses is carried out on-line or through reading books and articles. Each student is assigned to a local tutor in Japan and has direct support from the university as well as from the David English House office in Japan.
